About Us |
| |
When you are a Lion, you can be as busy as you want to be. Our club has
a variety of goals and community projects and our membership always
meets the challenge.

Annual Santa
Project |
| |

| Each year children from the Abingtons, who are signed up
by their parents, receive a visit and a gift from Santa. This annual
tradition, which began nearly 50 years ago, continues today. Many life
long residents have fond memories of being visited by the Abington Lions
Santa as children. Over 400 children are visited each year.

College
Scholarships |
| |

|
We award multiple scholarships each year to graduates of
Abington Heights High School. In 2009, we provided two $1500 awards.
The scholarships represent our support of educational excellence in the Abingtons. |

Eye Glass
Collection |
| |

|
Some of our members have traveled to Haiti and Latin America. When
they go on these missions, they take along eye glasses that are
collected during the year and they are distributed to people who are in
need.

Holiday Coffee
Breaks |
| |
 |
For Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving, the
club sponsors coffee and treats for travelers along Interstate 81. It is
a great way for us to greet visitors to our region, and you'd be
surprised at all the Lion members we meet. |

Adopt A Highway |
| |
|
Four times each year, a group of eager beavers, umm, Lions, clean a
2-mile stretch of Route 6 in Clarks Summit. We've been doing this for
over 13 years. |
